MANAGEMENT COURSES

Oxford Open Learning offers a variety of courses aimed at different levels of Management.

ASET

The ASET Certificate is designed for students who are new to management as a discipline.  It provides a basic understanding of business processes and enables the student to competently run their own business or department.

Each Certificate covers a specific business area and concentrates on how to achieve results in a variety of essential business tasks.  Each module of the course contains a selection of exercises.  Once completed, these will provide the management trainee with a measure of their progress, through feedback from their tutor.

The modules are:

Customer Relations

Business Finance

Business Management

Business Marketing

Business Planning

Technology in Business

ASET - 'Associated Syndicate of Education and Training' is a National Awarding Body.  It is regulated by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

IAM

Oxford Open Learning's administrative management courses are all linked to the prestigious Institute of Administrative Management's (IAM) Certificate and Diploma programmes.

The course is primarily aimed at administrators who are embarking on a career in management or supervision and covers an introduction to administration, communications and various aspects of personnel management.

The Certificate consists of three modules and the Diploma of a further four modules.

The Certificate modules are:

Business Administration

Systems and Activities

The Individual and the Organisation

The Diploma modules are:

Effective Management

There is also a work-based project OR Case study to complete the Diploma.

IAM is suitable for students without a business background although students will need to be capable of studying at 'A' Level standard and above.

All IAM students are required to become members of the Institute.  Oxford Open Learning will provide you with an IAM application form when you enrol.

Students may request accreditation for individual modules from the Institute if they do not wish to study the entire course.  Candidates will need to become student members of IAM to do this.
