Accounting Technician

ACCA's Certified Accounting Technician Qualification (CAT) has a combination of study and practical experience , designed to build your knowledge in accountancy, IT and management.

Whilst you will learn the ins and outs of double entry bookkeeping and, as you progress, advanced accounting concepts, a fully qualified Certified Accounting Technician will also be trained to manage themselves and their departments. Accounting Technicians will also have an understanding of the law as it relates to company accounts.

Becoming an Accounting Technician

With an emphasis on flexibility and opportunity, the CAT qualification is accessible to anyone aged 16 years or older. There are no time constraints to complete your examinations, so you can study and qualify at a pace which suits you. Your previous examinations may also entitle you to exemptions from certain examinations. This will ensure your point of entry is the most suitable for your level of knowledge and skills and will prevent you repeating areas with which you are familiar.
